What is RA?
Rheumatoid Arthritis, or RA, is an autoimmune disease that is often times very painful for those who are afflicted with the condition. RA is a form of arthritis that attacks the tissue in between joints, causing swelling.
Unfortunately this is a chronic condition and cannot be cured, but there are many ways people have learned to cope with the pain and discomfort. Every body is different, literally, but listening to what has helped others, may help you find ways to feel better as well.
Seamus, for one, has learned that some foods, especially those mentioned in his new book, Hero Foods, at times help him to feel better. When he drinks his Parsley Shake, full of folic acid and other nutrients and anti-inflammatory properties, he actually feels better!
Seamus has taken the steps to understand the properties of these foods and why they may help, which is detailed in his book.
In this section of the rachaelray.com website, we profile other ingredients in our Amazing Foods tab that showcases foods that are generally speaking really good for the human body. We do not make claims that any of these foods will help cure any disease or even make an individual feel better, we are simply sharing what is factual about these foods. Eating well, getting enough sleep and exercising is a good prescription for everyone!
