- 1 ball pizza dough (either store bought or make your own)
- 1 cup fresh pizza sauce
- 1 small red onion, sliced into thin rings
- 2 cups feta cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup pitted kalamata olives
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh oregano
- A few leaves of basil, chopped
- Black pepper, to taste
Pre-heat the oven to 425ºF. (If using a pizza stone, place the stone in the oven prior to cooking so it can get heated through.) If using a pizza screen, lightly grease or spray the screen with cooking spray.
Roll out the pizza dough thinly on the screen or on a cornmeal-dusted wooden pizza board. Ladle the sauce and spread it out evenly over dough to the edges. Spread the mozzarella cheese first, followed by the red onion, feta and kalamata olives. Sprinkle with the fresh oregano, chopped basil and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste.
Transfer the pizza to the oven and cook until the bottom is slightly brown and the crust forms around the edges, around 12 minutes. The cheese will start to brown.
